Proliance Eastside Surgery Center, the main Ambulatory Surgery Center for ProOrtho has been named one of America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers of 2022 according to a research project conducted by Newsweek. The Proliance Eastside Surgery Center, located in Kirkland, ranked second among ambulatory surgery center in the state of Washington. Ambulatory surgical centers like the Eastside Surgery Center have had an increased role in American medicine over the last few years and are projected to grow in the coming decade. The ability to have a surgical procedure done without requiring hospitalizations is extremely convenient. Currently, there are over 5,000 medicare certified ambulatory surgical centers around the country in all the major surgical specialties – orthopedic surgery, cardiac surgery, eye surgery, spinal surgery, and so on.
In an effort to assist readers in making the best choices for the care of themselves and their loved ones, Newsweek partnered with the respected global research firm Statista to name America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers. As part of the research, they conducted a survey of experts, which included nurses, therapists, physicians, surgeons, and administrators. They were asked to rank ASC’s in their state based on criteria of factors like quality of surgical care, management of appointment waiting time, and management in times of the COVID-19 crisis, among others.
The project analyzed more than 4,600 ambulatory surgery centers out of the 25 states with the most facilities. Overall 470 were ranked across the country, 15 in Washington State. To make sure the rankings were unbiased, any ranking that included an ambulatory surgery center the survey taker worked for was not counted.
